In the course of this thesis project, for the reasons described in the introduction, I have given more weight to the symbolic realm than to the structural one. It is important to recognize, however, that any project, ours included, needs to address both structural and symbolic spheres equally during its implementation. While we prefer to begin from the ground and work up an esthetic sense first, it is imperative that this process does flower into a model that is transferable to others, as well as an ethics that may be communicated. Biophilia must develop into biognosis.

We also need to remember that people learn in various ways. What makes sense for one student doesn’t necessarily make sense for another. The four archetypes of learning describe four different ways of knowing: analysis, observation, intuition, and experience.

For maximum efficacy, we must appeal to each way.
